About DUU
Duke University Union was founded in 1954 with the purpose of promoting the social, recreational, cultural, and educational activities of and for the students.
Today, the student-led Duke University Union (DUU) provides a diverse range of cultural, intellectual, educational, recreational, and social programming to complement the academic experience of Duke University students and to provide enrichment for the University faculty, staff, and employees and the surrounding community. In cooperation with the staff of the University Center Activities & Events, DUU serves as a leadership training ground for its officers, chairs, and committee members. Through experimental learning, they develop knowledge and appreciation of professionalism and the fundamental management of effective motivation, organization, and communication.
Duke University Union currently consists of 16 committees, planning everything from concerts to laser tag to film screenings and providing resources such as music recording facilities and student film production funding & support. If you are interested in joining a committee, please contact the committee chair(s), listed below. You can learn more at their individual websites on the Committees page.
