Whether you are a freshman or a grad student, it is never too late to join Duke University Union. We are always looking for dedicated, enthusiastic students to join our 15 committees. You can contact the chair of any committee on the Committees page.
Most of our committees meet on a weekly basis and are welcome to new members at any time. Feel free to come to a meeting, and introduce yourself to the chair before or after the meeting! All meetings are held in the DUU Office unless otherwise specified. The DUU office is in the Bryan Center on the main level, next to UCAE.
Duke Student Broadcasting @ Mondays, 8PM in the DSB Studio | Danny Nolan, President The DSB Studio is behind the Bryan Center, on the ATM level, past the mailboxes, walk through the doors to the greenhouse.
The LDOC (Last Day of Classes) and Major Attractions committees have an application and interview process that is held in early Fall.
DUU FIRST-YEAR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Duke University Union (DUU) First-Year Internship Program allows you, as a freshman, to gain unparalleled exposure and involvement as a part of the Duke University Union, the largest programming body at Duke and one of Duke’s largest student organizations. As a DUU Intern, you will work with your fellow interns and some of DUU’s senior leaders to plan and carry out a large scale event for the entire campus. Additionally, you will gain exposure to DUU’s 15 diverse committees that provide quality programming in numerous different areas, as well as the ability to participate in those committees which are most interesting to you.
The First-Year Internship Program will also contain a mentorship component in which you will be matched with a member of DUU’s executive board who will serve as your mentor over the course of the program (and hopefully beyond!).
If you have a strong interest in programming and events, want to learn more about our incredible organization, or simply want to meet more people and gain valuable teamwork experience, we encourage you to apply for our program.
The FIP Program is currently accepting applications. Apply here: bit.ly/duuintern.
Applications are due by September 13th at 11:59PM.
Please feel free to contact Jacob Robinson if you have any questions.
