LDOC T-Shirt Sales & Texting Listserv Sign-Up Deadline

The students have spoken, the votes are in! Here’s the winning shirt design for this year’s LDOC:

LDOC t-shirts will be distributed at the same time and place as wristbands, on the BC PLAZA from 10am-5pm this Monday (4/23) & Tuesday (4/24), and from 9am-4pm on LDOC (Wednesday, 4/25). Special shout-out to Mark Carrabine, this year’s student-voted winner of the LDOC t-shirt design contest!
Regularly priced shirts are only $10, and are half-off if you sign up for the LDOC texting listserv before 3pm on Tuesday, April 24! Listserv sign-up is here: http://tinyurl.com/7njl2fr
Shirts can be purchased on FLEX or with cash, and all proceeds from LDOC t-shirt sales will be going directly to Walltown Children’s Theater in Durham to fund scholarships. A huge thanks to the Duke Student Wellness Center, who made this donation possible through their generous sponsorship.

Student Performer Contest

Want to get the chance to perform onstage during LDOC? This year we’ll be featuring student acts throughout the day, as well as in between our scheduled artists, in order to keep up the high energy!
The LDOC committee will be accepting submissions of individual students & student groups’ acts through 11:59pm SUNDAY, MARCH 25th. If you, or your group, plan on submitting, please see the guidelines below:

Submissions must be in electronic form (i.e. video, mp3, link to a YouTube clip, link to a Soundcloud track, etc.)
All submissions must be sent by 11:59pm on Sunday, March 25th to lastdayofclasses@gmail.com
Acts can be whatever you want; get creative! Dancing, singing, DJing, beatboxing, playing an instrument, spoken word, rhythmic gymnastics…. If you’ve got a talent you want to share on LDOC, we want to see it!
We’d prefer submissions to be no longer than 7 minutes, please. (*NOTE: The actual act may be longer, but this is only supposed to be a brief clip.)
Nothing offensive or inappropriate.

After the LDOC committee has reviewed all the submissions, those acts who make it to the next round will be asked to audition in front of a live audience at the Dillo. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend! Final selections will then be made, and acts who will be performing on LDOC will be notified shortly thereafter! T-Shirt Design Contest

Have your design featured on the gear for the most widespread event on Duke’s campus, and win a $100 Visa gift card! The deadline for submissions for the official LDOC t-shirt design contest is 11:59pm SUNDAY, MARCH 18. Submission guidelines are below:

Feel free to incorporate the “LDOCalypse” theme into your design, but it’s not required
The artists are “B.o.B”, “Basshunter”, “Macklemore x Ryan Lewis” and “3LAU”
(**NOTE: The names cannot be altered in the design)
If you already sent in a submission before our line-up changed, please resubmit your original with the updated artist line-up
We strongly suggest a front and back design
Up to 2 ink colors and 1 t-shirt color are permitted
Nothing offensive or inappropriate

Theme Announcement

In the spirit of the predicted end of the world this year, the committee is excited to announce the theme for LDOC 2012 will be…….. LDOCALYPSE!!

Aspiring artists, feel free to incorporate the theme into your designs for the soon-to-be-announced LDOC T-Shirt Design Contest! Of course it’s not at all required, but we thought it could be a fun jumping-off point if you wanted some inspiration.

We hope you’re all ready to get down like it’s the end of the world at what could very well be your last LDOC…. ever.
