DESCRIPTION:Preparing and consuming fruit is often a way BIPOC communities connect with each other\, especially when there are cultural\, generational\, oceanic\, and language barriers between us. What memories of fruit do you hold today? What’s your favorite fruit? Least favorite? Do those memories affect your relationships with food\, family\, community?. . Asian American artists and community organizers\, Isabel Lu and Ina Liu\, will share their work and creative processes with students. They will then facilitate a process-based workshop that will explore these questions and allow participants to create a one-of-a-kind concept and painting about their relationship to fruit.. . Participants will be supplied with a canvas\, acrylic paints\, brushes\, and fruit to spark inspiration. However\, you are encouraged to bring any supplies\, materials\, and fruit to use and share with others. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals are encouraged to participate!. . . .
