SUMMARY:Brown Gallery: “Un/natural” by Amber Mooers
DESCRIPTION:Un/natural explores the surreal nature of existing within a human body. Sculptures in clay and wool both reflect and abstract elements of our bodies. I consider my own relationship to my body as I build these pieces by hand\, spinning yarn and sculpting the clay into expressions of my own skin\, womb\, digestive tract\, and hair. Once a part of us is amputated or altered\, it becomes alien. At what point do we stop recognizing ourselves?
