Cevra  // Secret Boyfriend  Secret Boyfriend is the long-running music and performance moniker of Ryan Martin. A key figure in the east coast North American underground music scene, his record label [Hot Releases] unearths the finest contemporary avant garde, outsider, and weirdo sounds and his Savage Weekend festival attracts a wide range of performers and attendees. Secret Boyfriend’s music is also quite diverse, ranging from tender acoustic guitar lullabies to cold wave-inspired ‘pop songs’ to ear-splitting contact-mic-on-metal. Equal parts meticulous and improvised, Secret Boyfriend carefully corrals many influences into a cohesive cathartic experience. Numerous releases have materialized since 2008 on labels such as Blackest Ever Black, Enmossed & Psychic Liberation, as well as his own.
